Non taxing local unit of government.


The Soil and Water Conservation District is a local resource for natural resource concerns for the citizens of our county.


​We are actively involved with watershed planning in DeKalb County www.dekalbcountywatersheds-il.org 


A resource for natural resources education for youth and adults.


Advocate for preserving prime farmland in DeKalb County.​

The DeKalb County Soil and Water Conservation District relies on support from the State of Illinois, local county government, and organizations like the DeKalb County Community Foundation and DeKalb County Farm Bureau. 


We also raise funds through the sale of our services to the community.


 We are also able to take tax deductible donations which are used to help support our mission.

This harvest season you can "Give a Gift of Grain" through  a collaboration program between DeKalb County Community Foundation and the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture.
